Islam is a religion of peace

Islam is a religion that is based on the belief in one God, Allah, and the teachings of the prophet Muhammad(S.A.W). Muhammad(S.A.W) is considered to be the final prophet of God, and his teachings are recorded in the Qur'an, the holy book of Islam. Muslims believe that Muhammad received divine revelations from God and that he was chosen to spread the message of Islam to the world.   Muhammad(S.A.W) was born in the city of Mecca, in present-day Saudi Arabia, in the year 570. As a young man, Muhammad(S.A.W) worked as a merchant and was known for his honesty and integrity. He was also known for his contemplative nature, and he often spent time in meditation and contemplation in the desert.   According to Islamic tradition, Muhammad(S.A.W) received his first revelation from God at the age of 40 while he was meditating in a cave called Hira, located on the outskirts of Mecca.
